The Pentax PF-65ED II spotting scope body is designed for precise outdoor observation. Compared with its predecessor, it further reduces chromatic aberration to deliver more natural color reproduction.

These scopes use 1.25-inch diameter eyepieces, which minimize optical path compression from the objective lens, resulting in larger, deeper images with superior depth of field. This is a fantastic feature because, in addition to Pentax’s own high-quality eyepieces, you can also use top-tier astronomical eyepieces from renowned manufacturers such as Meade, Celestron, and Tele Vue. The PF-65ED II has a focal length of 390 mm, so when using a standard 1.25-inch eyepiece, the effective magnification can be calculated by dividing 390 mm by the eyepiece’s focal length. The Pentax ED series performs exceptionally well under various lighting and weather conditions, and thanks to its metal alloy body, it remains lightweight and portable.
